Providing good quality retirement rental properties

Helping to address the housing challenges for an ageing population

Retirement properties to rent – a hot topic. Housing for retirees has been a widely discussed subject throughout the media in recent months. As we are enjoying longer retirements on average, housing across an ever-increasing population has become a challenge.

At My Future Living we offer quality retirement properties to rent in purposefully built spaces for renters. This means that the flats are constructed, designed, and maintained specifically for the people who will rent them. This way, we are reassured that our customers can enjoy homes and that they are professionally equipped, and managed, for their needs.

The benefits of renting in retirement

A particular benefit of renting a build to rent property is that generally, a provision for communal areas is made. Most of our developments offer a communal lounge where residents can meet and socialise, along with gardens where warmer days can be enjoyed.

The size of the rooms, storage and insulation is all planned to ensure comfort and convenience. The lack of suitable housing has seen flats and apartments being inexpertly ‘carved’ from larger houses. Many of these will have a lack of storage and rooms that are shoe-horned into a corner of a larger space which may create challenges.

Most of our retirement properties to rent will have built in wardrobes in the bedroom and storage in the hallways which negates the need for additional storage furniture. The kitchen areas will have fitted units and some of the bathrooms have vanity units underneath the sink to help keep things neat and tidy.

Save money on heating your home

Our apartments have storage heaters which can run on economy 7 heating tariffs. Modern storage heaters are deemed to be more economically friendly as they use the ‘off-peak’ energy to store the energy, ready for control of the release of the heat during the day when needed.

In 2028, the government has set a target that all rental accommodation has an energy performance certificate of ‘C’ rating, or above*. My Future Living has already ensured that 99% of their properties already met this rating. This ensures that our customers are not wasting money on heating their homes.

Limit unexpected maintenance bills

As professional landlords, major maintenance becomes less of a concern for our customers too. Teamed with a development management team who maintain the communal areas, it offers peace of mind, limiting the potential of high repair bills.
